Things to Do:

Beach - Relax at Mackenzie beach by the campground, or Explore one of the many beaches around Ucluelet and Tofino

Boating - Bring your own boat to one of Tofino's many boat launches. Join a guided paddle around the calm waters of Clayoquot Sound, or Kennedy Lake. Or charter a vessel

Fishing - Tofino offers an abundant sport fishery year round, late Spring to mid September are the prime times. These prime times make way for not only healthy local fish stocks but also for migrating salmon as they head to there spawning streams which range from Alaska to Oregon. These migrating salmon runs are for the most part are tapped into on the offshore banks where Halibut and other species are plentiful.  Bring your own boat grab or if your not 100% comfortable out on the open Pacific and are not well equipped you should consider taking advantage of fishing Charter.

Hiking - Explore one of the many beach or forest trails around Ucluelet and Tofino

Hot Springs Cove -  in Maquinna Marine Provincial Park, about 48km north of Tofino. Getting to the hot springs requires taking one of Tofino's water taxi services and, due to the long distance, they generally require a minimum number of people to be registered to make the trip. The boat trip takes about 1-hour and you get to see some amazing coastal scenery and sometimes wildlife that might include whales, bears, or seals.

Surfing - The area surrounding Tofino offers some of the most accessible surf breaks on the west coast of Canada. Sandy beach breaks roll in along 25 kilometres of shoreline, much of which is within the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve. This long, open shoreline catches waves suitable for both experienced and beginner surfers.

Swimming - Swim in the heated indoor saltwater Pool, relax in the hot tub, or take a dip in the ocean. Use caution when swimming from beaches facing the open ocean, watch for rip tides, undertows, and rough waves. Tonquin Beach is located in the town core and is a great spot for swimming, sunning and relaxing.  Access is along the winding Tonquin Trail which starts at the Community Hall and descends through an old-growth forest to a partially-sheltered cove. The beach and small lookouts along the trail are perfect for enjoying a view of Wickaninnish Island, great sunsets, and the comings and goings of boats.  Tonquin Beach was named after the ship that perished in the channel in 1811.
